Is it really free?

Yes — free and open source, forever. No trial, no subscription, no "pro" upsell.

Why does my Mac/Windows warn me on first launch?

oioi isn't paid OS-vendor-signed (that costs $99/yr just to remove a warning). It's safe — right-click → Open on macOS, or "More info → Run anyway" on Windows. Once only.

Does it work on Windows and Linux?

Yes. Universal macOS build, plus Windows (.exe) and Linux (.AppImage / .deb) on the releases page.

Does it slow my computer down?

No — it sits quietly in the menu bar, pre-warmed so it opens instantly. Light on memory, no background CPU.

Can I change the shortcut?

Yes. ⌥V by default, fully remappable in settings, along with history size and the glass/soft panel style.
